Present position
I work as a research professor in the Marine and freshwater solutions. I’m passionate about understanding the interactions of climate and hydrology and how I can use this knowledge in practice. For instance, how to develop seasonal hydrological forecast to supporting decision making in hydropower production management, irrigation, and water supply. My research has a broad and interdisciplinary character exploring the dynamics of surface hydrology and climate, from small to large temporal and spatial scales. At Syke, I co-lead the development of the freshwater research infrastructure, which is part of the Fresh Water Competence Centre – FWCC.
Background
My background is broad and includes meteorology, climatology, and water resources engineering. I have extensive expertise in statistical data analysis and forecast. Among my main research interests is seasonal and long-term forecast of water availability and its use to support decision making.
Me being very international drives the diversity of my work and is its strength. I have worked on and collaborated with many institutions worldwide. I also hold a professorship at Lund University, Sweden and have a large experience in teaching, result of a long academic carrier.
