While fossil fuel production continues, policies aimed at mitigating climate change are widely discussed in the north. Furthermore, the Russian war in Ukraine has significantly altered the security and geopolitical context, underscoring the strategic importance of northern regions—particularly with Sweden and Finland now members of NATO.
