The Ministry of the Environment has appointed Eeva Primmer, Research Director, as Acting Director General of SYKE for the period from 1 November to 31 December 2021. Lea Kauppi who has been SYKE´s Director General for 25 years, retired at the end of October. She will continue at SYKE as a part-time Senior Advisor in the International Affairs Unit and will complete certain international expert obligations. The agreement is valid at this stage until 31 January 2021.
