The Finnish Environment Institute's Jyväskylä office was founded in 2007. Our current staff belongs to different units. We cooperate closely with different branches within Syke and also with many departments of the University of Jyväskylä as well as other and foreign universities. Research in the Jyväskylä Office is focused on the links between chemical, physical and ecological processes in aquatic environments and circular economy.
Our works encompasses the development of water quality monitoring, biomonitoring and modeling as well as assesses the accumulation and cycling of harmful substances and nutrients in aquatic enviroments, impacts of human landuse practice, circular economy issues and restoration. In addition, we develop new modeling and measuring applications.
