Vuokko Heikinheimo is a Senior Researcher at the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke). Her research interests include combining approaches from geographic information science and sustainability science in the context of urban sustainability. Her research at SYKE focuses on the development and application of spatial analysis approaches (GIS) in various research projects. In particular, her current work is related to sustainable urban structure, daily physical activity as well as green space accessibility. She holds a PhD from the University of Helsinki, Finland, where she worked at the Digital Geography Lab studying the use of national parks and green spaces through mobile big data.
