The Finnish Environment Institute SYKE has started this week its cyanobacterial bloom reporting for the summer 2019. Cyanobacterial blooms have not been observed in the Finnish sea areas this week. In lakes, observations of scarce amounts of cyanobacteria have been made only at few locations. Citizens can participate in the cyanobacterial monitoring by using the Havaintolähetti mobile phone application or by starting an own observation spot in the Järvi-meriwiki internet service (in Finnish or Swedish). SYKE will provide weekly reports of the cyanobacterial bloom situation until the beginning of September. Today, SYKE has also published a risk estimate of cyanobacterial blooms in Finnish sea areas in summer 2019. More in Finnish
